Start with person detection on, vehicle detection on only if you need it, and generic motion detection turned down. On cameras without AI detection, lower the sensitivity until rain and insects stop causing constant alerts, then raise it one step if real movement is missed.

For a driveway, I like a two-zone setup:

  • Wide zone: Lower sensitivity to catch vehicles and general movement.
  • Door or gate zone: Higher sensitivity for people approaching the house.
